You can definitely use Mailplane 2 in Mavericks.  You can get it here: 
http://mailplaneapp.com/download/

Please note that we recently updated Mailplane 3 so you can open many 
accounts in different work spaces.  See:  
http://mailplaneapp.com/howto/entry/switch_to_account/
