I appreciate people use Google+ (as do I), but remember those buttons you 
hide will be seen every time we search Google.com or use any other Google 
website, so they're not entirely necessary in Mailplane.  That said I've 
used CSS to move the only icon people would miss - the bell/notification - 
to the top-left of Gmail.

Also, whilst I appreciate there is a long list of requests, as this goes 
back to 2007 (at least!), shouldn't it be bumped to the top of the list at 
this stage?  I bought Mailplane 2, but the lack of any real progress within 
the Gmail web window in Maiplane 3 is holding me back from buying 3.  And 
if it's holding me back, I'm sure you're losing money elsewhere too. 
 Adding this feature will make Mailplane newsworthy again!  And it 
shouldn't be too hard either!
