Hi Glen; Thanks for writing in. At this time, we only support mailto:// at the moment to create a new message. The only two alternatives which come to mind are AppleScript ( http://mailplaneapp.com/howto/entry/compose_email_using_applescript) and our 'send to' service menu item ( http://mailplaneapp.com/howto/entry/use_mailplane_service_menu_items). The "from address" is the currently active tab.
