Hi Diane; Are you able to take a screen recording of you clipping a message and the issue so I can be sure we're on the same page?
If you haven't done one before, open the pre-installed QuickTime and click File > New Screen Recording. You will likely have to upload the video to a site like Dropbox first, since Gmail's video limit is pretty small.
