I keep switching back and forth between Apple Mail and Mailplane. Apple Mail looks much nicer and emails get formatted better and it handles embedded images/screenshots nicer. I feel "relaxed" when using it.
But it doesn't always sync with Gmail well. I end up eventually noticing email on the Gmail server (via my iPhone) that is just lying over there. When that happens it usually eventually comes in, but sometimes half a day later. This is a common complaint in the Apple support forums. Also, it's harder to file emails in Apple Mail. Mailplane is very reliable, because it's a native app overlay on Gmail's web interface. So everything stays in sync. And I like Gmail's labels and filing with short keystrokes. But formatting very often gets messed up (and is hard to fix, even if you select the text and go plain text). You can't even tab to align columns. I spent half my time yesterday reformatting emails because of weird line breaks. Also dealing with embedded images is a nuisance in Mailplane because you have to click multiple things to get the image embedded as you like. I wish Mailplane would at least let us set a default for that! It drives me crazy, because I'm always having to send screenshots to clients. I tend to stick with Mailplane because the bottom line is "I gotta get the mail." But the way it looks and the problems always drive me crazy. I wish they would fix the most annoying problems at least. Thanks, doug -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mailplaneapp" group.
