I’ve had this issue as well and posted about it on this forum. Some
helpful person recommended that I try opening the same tabs that I’m using
in Mailplane in a browser (and only open those tabs) and see what the
combined memory usage across all the browser processes added up to.… And
remember to consider ALL the chrome or Safari processes to get a try
picture. Sure enough - Monster Memory Usage. So the Memory eating
behaviour was coming from Google’s code driving Gmail/calendar etc.

This was some months ago, but I expect that if you repeat that experiment
you’ll see similar results. Mailplane is probably still just an innocent
bystander - Gmail and calendar just eat a lot of RAM… in a browser or in
mailplane.

Is it possible that there is a memory leak in a recent mailplane release -
Yes it is. But I’m just noting that there’s also a pretty good chance that
this is at the Google level. I regularly see multiple Gig in use - which
seems outrageous to get your mail… More recently I don’t typically see this
running so high - so it’s possible that some of the long promised memory
management improvements in Chrome are kicking in.
