Another thing to consider might be to move the close button to the right 
side of the tab and make the icon on the left part of the normal clickable 
area.  I think that's how some of my accidental clicks happen, and putting 
the close button on the right would be consistent with other tabbed UIs 
(i.e. Chrome and Firefox)
