Sory aku definisikan setahuku.. Ibaratnya, chip pusat pemrosesan yg ada pada motherboard. Ada 2, northbridge (bukan northbright), dan southbridge (bukan southbright). Keduanya menangani periferal yg berbeda.. Kalo northbridge biasanya ngurusin port VGA (AGP atau PCI-ex), Memory, processor.. Sedangkan southbridge ngurusin LAN, PCI, Sound, dst.. Tapi di arsitektur mobo AMD64, terutama chip NForce-4, kayaknya dah gak ada southbridge atau northbridge. Semua jadi satu..
