Di situ perbedaan antara xcopy atau copy biasa dengan Ghost... yang
dilakukan oleh proses copy biasa adalah menyalin fisik file-file, tetapi
TIDAK menduplikasi sector dan cluster tempat informasi file tersebut
berada... Kita bisa saja meng-copy seluruh file pada HDD sumber ke HDD
target, tetapi kalo informasi file yang ada pada cluster HDD tidak terbawa
(salah satu contoh yang paling jelas adalah Boot Sector), maka HDD target
tidak akan berfungsi sama, walaupun kelihatannya semua file sudah
ter-copy...
Xcopy --» All files
Ghost --» All files, beserta informasi File System, cluster, sector, yang
kesemuanya ada pada plater HDD
Analoginya mirip dengan perintah {copy A:\*.* B:\} dibandingkan dengan
perintah {Diskcopy A: B:} waktu jaman DOS dulu *terkenang-kenang.masa.susah*
