Afternoon,
This is notification to the community that on Thursday, March 23rd, OCP
will be changing the methods that project calls are scheduled and
communicated by leveraging the existing Groups.io platform. Project Leads
have been alerted, and OCP staff is completing the necessary steps to
return the power of scheduling events to the community.
This will be a slight upheaval but we believe in the long-term that these
policies will further simplify the process of holding calls / meetings /
events and increase community engagement and participation.
What will happen on Thursday:
- All Google Calendar project / subproject / workstream calendar events
will be cancelled.
- Prior to the cancellations I will send an email through each Groups.io
reflector to alert that the cancellations are coming.
- Individuals may need to manually remove items from Outlook and
other stand-alone calendar software.
- Replacement events will be configured on the individual project /
subproject / workstream groups.io calendar. Those subscribed to the
groups.io channel where the new cadence is scheduled will receive an
updated calendar event to be accepted / declined.
