*SQL SERVER DBA-LOCAL TO NY* New York City, NY Long term Senior Production SQL Server DBA : - Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as SQL Server DBA. - Installing, upgrading and configuring database software and utilities - Monitoring database performance and make system-tuning adjustments as required - Monitoring data base capacity requirements and expand as needed - Providing ongoing consultation to the applications groups on database related issues - Developing and administering database security and disaster recovery plans - Developing administrative tools in support of responsibilities listed above Skills/Experience Required: - Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000/2005 database administration and management techniques - Experience upgrading from MS SQL Server 2000 to 2005 - Excellent knowledge of SQL - Excellent database tuning skills Local candidates are strongly preferred.
