SAN Engineer We are looking for entrepreneurial, resourceful, and technically capable people to be an integral part of the consulting services side of ecfirst.com's on-site development and delivery team. JOB DURATION: 2 months LOCATION: San Francisco, CA Position Description: Acts as a lead in providing expert technical support and consultation for operating systems or subsystems. Conducts and coordinates the analysis, planning, and implementation of systems software and/or hardware. Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and documents operating systems. Defines systems software and/or hardware requirements and determines system specifications and/or customizations. Coordinates the design of subsystems and integration of total systems. Identifies and resolves highly complex problems. Provides direction and/or guidance to less experienced staff. Minimum Experience: 4 yr degree plus 7-10 yrs exp * Experience in disk management systems including design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of SAN technologies for (SUN and Hitachi) * 5-7 years Unix experience (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux), including Systems Administration. * Previous experience in the Installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems (Solaris 9, 10, Solaris 10 Containers, and Linux ) * Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills. * Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex systems problems. * Experience in clustering and high-availability infrastructures. * Experience in Veritas Netbackup, Brocade fabric switch; F5 application switch and traffic manager. * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced ever changing environment. * Demonstrated ability to work closely with change control and operations to coordinated seamless hardware changes. * Ability to work with multiple vendors on multiple projects to meet our deadlines.
