We are currently seeking a Senior Applications Engineer for a growing organization for a direct hire position in the RTP NC area. You will join them in producing products that will enable their customers to simplify and effectively manage costs for the physical infrastructure of their datacenters. When you join the development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing commercial web and desktop based applications using the latest Microsoft development tools and .NET compliant application frameworks. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the following: . Design and code very high quality product using the latest technologies. . Providing high quality technical/production deliverables while working with other product team members to refine and establish our product requirements. . Contributing to the overall technical architecture. . Work with existing development team and business analysts to capture requirements and implement those requirements using web or Smartclient techniques. . Being the go-to resource for our source control, software product packing and build procedures. . Be an essential contributor as a Senior Applications Engineer. *Required Skills: * . A thorough knowledge of software engineering best practices with a proven track record of implementing creative solutions both as an individual and on a team. . Strong understanding of object-oriented concepts, design patterns and development processes . A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Winform GUI development using C#, .NET . Minimum of 2 years working with Installshield version 10 or above for a Microsoft software product. . Strong understanding of Microsoft installation packaging technologies such as Installshield, WiX, MSI, Wise etc. . Experience with ANT, NANT or similar automated build scripting tools and environments. . Minimum of 5 years structured software development experience . Minimum of 4 years experience in relational database design and modeling using MS SQL Server 2000/2005+ . Minimum of 3 years experience in web based user interface design using ASP.NET and C#. . Minimum of 4 years experience in C#, .NET development. . Efficient SQL programming skills with MS SQL Server 2000/2005. . Solid understanding of Web technologies (HTML, CSS, DHTML, AJAX, SOA, XML, XSL, etc.) . Exceptional verbal and written communications skills . By far the most important skill is the ability to work as a team player. This entails being individually productive--on time and within budget--and working with others in a creative environment to solve problems as a team. It includes team loyalty, contributing ideas, being respectful of others, and the ability to get behind a decision once it is made. . Comfortable in a fast-paced and cutting edge development environment. . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent Preferred Skills: . Experience with the Agile software development processes . Experience with Vault, Subversion or StarTeam . Cruisecontrol or similar automated build technologies. . Microsoft Entity Framework, NHibernate . Microsoft Office Development SDK. Additional Non-Tech Skills: In addition to the team skills described above, the candidate should have strong technical leadership qualities, and possess good technical writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
