Below are the basic TOP skills required for this role:
*Technical:*
- TSM server administrative skills
- Perform upgrades
- Understands TSM manager config and options
- Understand TSM db and logs
- Storage pools - migration, reclamation, threshholds
- TSM client skills
- Inclexcl file and how it works on the client
- Troubleshoot client issues
- restores
- Unix skills
- General unix admin skills
- Ksh scripting – important to maintain critical oracle backups and
other automation scripts
- General hardware knowledge – Tape library, fiber switches
*Non-technical:*
- Multi-tasker – someone who can juggle multiple tasks at once
- Self motivator – requires minimal direction and can be productive first
day
- Resourceful - Can drill down into the environment and look for
improvements and fix underlying problems
- Coordinator – someone who can coordinate and work well with other
groups to get projects, upgrades and issues addressed
- After hours oncall support
