*9-12 Months***

*Looking for candidates with specific hardware/software deployment
experience. Experience with large Data Center migrations is a huge plus.*

This position to serve as a Hardware Deployment Coordinator reporting into
the new Data Center project with the following role and responsibilities:

• Identification of new and existing hardware to be deployed – to meet both
prod and non-prod requirements
• Manage the inventory of kit scheduled for deployment (i.e.. the 'build
queue') in alignment with migration schedule to prevent stock-outs
• Arranging logistical transport services and recertification of HW to be
decommissioned and subsequently redeployed
• Liaison between IT Construction and Migration streams for schedule
coordination (i.e.. HW requirements, timings, source/target, scheduling of
decom/redeploy HW, etc)
• Coordinate with facilities on DC planning/placement logistics
• User of new facilities mgmt planning software (Aperture) to request and
plan power/space requirements
• Document, diagram, and communicate availability of hardware
• Point of contact to receive priority build requests

Desired skills: current knowledge of server and storage hardware product
sets, strong MS Excel / PowerPoint and Visio skills, and excellent
communication and organization skills.

*Mail from the Hiring Manager*

*We are not looking for anyone real 'techy'. However, it would help if the
person has some knowledge of VMWare running on HP Blade servers. Sun UNIX
systems, EMC Symmetrix and NetApp storage are all good things to have some
understanding of. *

*The key thing for us is someone being able to understand what kind of
servers (and associated storage) we have in our inventory that are in the
process of getting built (or redeployed) into the new data center, but
don't have to have a real technical understanding of how the servers or
storage is managed. *

*Good background would be someone who used to do some server/storage admin
work, but has moved to a PM role and is well organized and likes to
document (especially with Visio). *

*One more thing I forgot to add is that the person needs to be pretty
independent, a self-starter, and can initiate / chair meetings and drive
resolution on open ended questions /issues.*
