Job Title: *Operating Systems Engineer* Location: Des Moines, IA Bill Rate Range: $40/hr Contract Type: Contract Contract Length: 12 Month Status: Any (US Citizen, Green Card, H1B) Number of Positions: 1 Requirements: Details of the Operating Systems Engineer position include: Experience Level: - 4 year degree plus 7 or more years experience. Description: - Acts as a lead in providing expert technical support and consultation for operating systems or subsystems. - Conducts and coordinates the analysis, planning, and implementation of systems software and/or hardware. - Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and documents operating systems. - Defines systems software and/or hardware requirements and determines system specifications and/or customizations. - Coordinates the design of subsystems and integration of total systems. - Identifies and resolves highly complex problems. - Provides direction and/or guidance to less experienced staff. Activities include: - Candidate MUST work *2nd shift* (3:00pm - Midnight Central time zone). Requirements: Must have 5+ years experience with: - Solaris 8/10; - Solaris Zones/Containers; - Enterprise production support experience; and - Shell scripting experience (examples of scripts may be requested). Candidate must also have 5+ years experience with one of the following operating systems: - RHEL 4/5; - HP/UX 11i; or - AIX 5L. - Primary work duties will be implementing change requests and general production support on all of the above platforms. - Experience with Connect Direct, clustering technologies, autosys, OVO, or Opsware is a plus. - EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS are a MUST.
