*Position: Project Manager* *Location: Houston, TX* *Duration: 6+ Months * *Rate: $55-57/Hr (Not Negotiable)* * * * * *Project Description: * The IT Project Manager somewhat independently manages the resources, human or otherwise, necessary to accomplish the approved information technology project strategy on behalf of the project sponsor and customer. When groups of related deliverables are organized into a sub-project, responsible for managing multiple team leads (i.e. functional, technical, training, or process re-engineering) or associate project managers whose deliverables provide specific components all of which must be managed in order to provide the desired project results. In carrying out the following functions and responsibilities, the IT Project Manager is administratively responsible to their manager, associate director, or director and is accountable to the project sponsor and/or project steering team for completing the project on schedule, within budget, and the agreed upon scope and quality. *EDUCATION: * Required: Bachelors Degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, healthcare, or related field. Formal education from Project Management Institute certified provider in project management methodology and processes. *EXPERIENCE: * *Required:* Total eight years experience which consists of five years in project management plus 3 years IT experience in application or infrastructure services. Experience using formal project management methodology, techniques and tools; 1-3 years experience in healthcare with previous supervisory, coaching, or experience directly managing people, both within their team and in a matrix environment. Expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables and completing projects on time, within budget, and with agreed upon functionality. Experience in team building and leading teams * Preferred:* One to three years IT experience in an academic healthcare setting. Technical experience as a software developer, software architect, systems implementer, or systems administrator is strongly preferred.
