DESCRIPTION:
The services of the Worker will include, but are not limited to, the
following:
A. Works under the direction of the TWC Data Center Operations Manager
and TWC Data Processing Director.
B. Review and update the current TWC IT Contingency Plan and document
the IT Contingency Planning program according to the National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-34, Contingency
Planning Guide for Information Technology Systems. This includes:
1. Documenting TWC's IT Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery policy
and planning processes
2. Applying and documenting the elements of the NIST planning cycle,
including preliminary planning, business impact analysis, alternate site
selection, and recovery strategies.
3. Reviewing and documenting the TWC IT contingency planning policies
and plans with emphasis on maintenance, training, and exercising the
contingency plan
C. Assist with updating the IT Contingency Plan to match the current
Disaster Recovery Model under multiple scenarios:
1. Failure at TWC's Capitol Complex facilities
2. Loss of service at the DCS Austin Data Center (ADC) or San Angelo
Data Center (SDC)
3. Loss of network connectivity to the ADC or SDC
D. Writing, editing, publishing, and distribution of the TWC IT
Contingency/Disaster Recovery planning documents.
E. Complies with TWC Human Resource Guidelines and procedures
