Senior Web Designer - Houston, TX Rate : $50/hr - C2C Duration ; 6 + months. - Preparing multiple mock-ups and /or design options. - Creating interfaces from idea to sketch to high fidelity design to code deliverables. - Thinking creatively to develop artistic concepts that are eye-catching and can sell services. - Documentation of visual artifacts. - Keeping abreast of new design trends and design software developments. - Using design to improve conversion rates, increase 'stickiness' while lowering the cost of support. - Leadership for new visual design initiatives. - Assisting user experience designers with visual design and layout, support brand & design standards. - Understanding of practical benefits and limitations of Internet technologies (i.e. Shockwave, Flash, Java, DHTML, CGI, etc.) - Multi-tasking by working on multiple projects with concurrent deadlines and providing leadership to digital team to meet deadlines and goals. *Supervisory Responsibilities* Junior level User Graphic Designers may report into this position. *Competencies/ Traits* - Visual art and design - Image manipulation - Design concepts - Film, print and electronic media - Desktop publishing software - Experience with Trademarks, Copywriting and Media law - Creative writing skills - Strong knowledge of design software - Interface design for forms, shopping cart, and web-based functions - Web usability - Interface design - Information architecture - Visual marketing - Printing methods - Color theory - Typography - Calligraphy - Page layout techniques *Qualifications* *Education and Experience* Bachelor's degree preferred in communication/graphic design, interaction design, information design, interface design, Human-Computer Interaction, Usability or similar. - ·Minimum of 4+ years' experience performing graphic designer work. - Strong creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work as a team player, interact with other technical teams. - Excellent soft skills. - Familiarity with visual art design, Trademarks, Copywriting and Media law, and usability principles. - Strong organization skills with a high level of attention to detail.
