Title: SQL Database Developer Location: Little Rocks AR Duration: 6+ Months Rate: $40/hr on w2 or $45/hr on c2c *Short Description:* The SQL Server Database Developer develop a data mart and help develop an overall data warehousing strategy. *Complete Description:* Years of Relevant Experience: 5 to 11 years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study or advanced degree *Role Description:* The right candidate will have strong SQL Server 2005/2008 experience with specific SSIS and SSAS knowledge and understanding with 3+ years of OLAP development experience (cube design, fact, dimension structure, Data Mart development, etc). •Analyze the current transactional database designs to determine needed improvements •Provide architecture and planning recommendations in the areas of data management •Work with developers and business clients to identify, design and implement solutions for extraction and integration of data to and from existing databases to the new data mart for the purposes of reporting, decision support and analysis •Develop the logical data model and physical design for the new data mart •Develop scripts for the creation of the physical data warehouse database schema(s), data security and protection, managing performance, performing backups/ restores, and archiving data •Develop necessary ETL packages needed to populate the data mart (which consists of approximately 15-20 tables) •Make recommendations for best practices for the design and development of the databases, data mart, and SSIS packages and make recommendations for future data warehouse design •Analyze and identify areas for improvement in system performance, including optimization and tuning of data loads, extractions and recommending appropriate procedure, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability •Document and standardize data structures, procedures and processes •Experience Multidimensional Expression (MDX) queries and Data Mining Expression (DMX) queries for analysis services preferred but not required •Good working experience with OLAP and Reporting Services/MS Excel combination •Strong data modeling experience and key understanding of relational database development •Significant experience in extracting data from multiple sources including a data warehouse environment •Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to changes •Strong quantitative, analytics, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required •Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must •Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision •Strong written and verbal communication skills •Mentor and coach peers •Provide knowledge transfer to peers *Please respond to [email protected] Only* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mainframe" group.
