This senior development position, Global Payments Technology (GPT) Development team, is focused on development of backend services for state of the art e-commerce Payment processing systems. The position will develop, design, and architect Web Services and back end services. You will also drive quality and performance to ensure the payments and fraud technology platform meets global business needs. *Job Responsibilities:* Primary responsibilities will be to architect, design and develop, easy to maintain Web services and backend systems for e-commerce applications. In addition you will provide technical insight to the development team and actively contribute to the improvement of development practices in the Global Payments team. The ability to design and deliver high quality and high performance software is an essential requirement. You should have ability to work independently as well as part of team. This position will be involved in all phases of product development from review of functional specifications through assisting with test plans and final QA cycle. You must enjoy a fast-paced environment and possess strong software engineering skills. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Extensive knowledge of object oriented technologies and multi-tier applications, is a must. Proven track record of successfully delivering high volume and high availability transactional applications under tight time constraints. Key technical requirements include: Object Oriented Design and Programming, Spring (Core spring, AOP and Spring Web services), Hibernate, J2EE App tier components (JDBC, Servlets, JMS, etc.), Java/J2EE design patterns, SOAP Web Services, and stand-alone java applications. Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines. Strong object oriented programming and design skills. Be able to apply OO skills and OO design patterns to solve problems. Strong Java programming and problem solving skills. Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system level programming, including multi-threaded programming Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead code reviews and technical design meetings. Experience designing and developing software in distributed architecture and multi-tier application environments. Experience with software performance testing, tuning and load testing. *Preferred:* Experience with e-commerce or other order and payment processing systems. Experience with large distributed 24/7 applications *Experience:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or computing related discipline. 5-7 years software development working experience in Java. 4+ years experience with using the J2EE platform including Java, JDBC, Servlets, JMS, and Java/J2EE design patterns 1-2 year of experience developing software using Spring, and Spring related frameworks.
