SQL Developer Location: Seattle, WA Duration: 6 to 12 months Rate: Open* Preference given to locals or somebody who is willing to relocate to Seattle, WA *Job Responsibilities:* Primary responsibilities will be to architect, design, develop, and implement complex database systems, tools, and applications . As a database developer, you probably work in a large scale enterprise database and use powerful database management and data analysis tools. Your specialty might be writing queries and stored procedures, using data modeling tools, designing and optimizing databases, or implementing at the physical level. You must have a thorough understanding of relational databases. You are the Microsoft SQL Server expert whose responsibilities might include supporting and securing critical information systems and providing reliable data that can be used in business-specific software solutions for Global Payments team. The ability to design and deliver high quality and high performance software is an essential requirement. You should have ability to work independently as well as part of team. This position will be involved in all phases of product development from review of functional specifications through assisting with test plans and final QA cycle. You must enjoy a fast-paced environment and possess strong software engineering skills. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Experience with very large databases and/or data warehousing, Good knowledge of SQL Some experience as an MS SQL Server DBA Must be familiar with current version of MS SQL Server(general database knowledge/experience), Advanced SQL and PL/SQL, Application development experience in an SQL Server environment, Data Modeling/Relational Database Design Experience with Java/JDBC Experience creating and implementing physical databases from Logical Data Models Experience with data management, versioning of data, backups, etc Database optimization experience using database-monitoring tools Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines. Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead code reviews and technical design meetings. Experience with software performance testing, tuning and load testing. * Preferred: * Experience with e-commerce or other order and payment processing systems.
