*Position: DB2 UDB DBA*
*Location - Louisville, KY*
*Duration: 6 Months*
*Rate:$50/hr on C2C AL*

*Job Description*

-              Five (5) plus years of DB2 DBA experience in a mainframe z/OS
environment

-              System programming experience using SMP/E

-              Experience with DB2 tools and DB2 monitoring tools

-              Experience with setting and maintaining DB2 parameters
(ZPARMNS and DB2 Buffer Pools

-              Experience with PeopleSoft  maintenance and performance
tuning

-              Expert with DB2 Utilities

-              Expert with mainframe JCL


*Responsibilities:*

-              DB2 Software installation and upgrade experience

-              DB2 Utility installation and upgrade experience

-              Manage a team of DBA's

-              Apply PTF's to DB2 software and Utilities

-              Application consultation, analysis and Implementation of DB2
structure changes across development.

-              Implement DB2  software components; tables, SQL etc..in Test
and Production LPAR's

-              Create/maintain application development testing regions and
LPAR's

-              Provide support for developers using DB2 tools and utilities

-              Make recommendations for, and implement, underlining storage
structures.

-              Make recommendations for, and implement, appropriate security
structures.

-              Develop and execute appropriate Data Definition Language
(DDL) to support projects.

-              Provide query performance monitoring and tuning
recommendations.

-              Review and approval for application based scripts, utilities,
stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

-              Perform database backup and recovery.

-              Provide input on database and environment parameter settings
and tuning.

-              Provide general database expertise to application projects.

-              Provide on-call support for database problems and off hour's
maintenance.

-              Responsibility for execution and monitoring of database
utilities and scripts.

-              Provide change management and documentation for database
changes.

-              Identify opportunities to reduce Mainframe MIPS.

-              Incident escalation and troubleshooting
