URGENT REQ : LOCATION: MANHATTAN,NY DURATION: 12 + MONTHS Required Skills/Experience (Skills that the successful candidate(s) must have) The typical candidate must be able to work with a team and as an independent contributor to analyze, design, develop and enhance applications to support Customer Operations. - At least 6+ years of intensive Client Server and Web development - Microsoft VB.NET programming (4-6 years). - Microsoft SQL-Server programming (4-6 years) Including database design, complex queries, and SSIS/DTS - Strong knowledge of Visual Studio 2008 using VB.Net, and Visual Basic 6 - Familiarity with TFS\Source Safe is a plus - Experience with VB6 to VB.NET conversions - Basic skills using Microsoft Office Word and Excel - Must have excellent communication skills Assignment Consultant would be responsible for converting applications written in obsolete Microsoft Technologies to newer platforms. This would include upgrading SQL Server 2000, DTS, VB6, and classic ASP technologies to SQL Server 2008, SSIS, VB.Net, and ASP.Net. Assignment will include development, testing, deploying, and maintaining upgraded applications. Candidate will work within our IR-Cust Ops Support development team. Should be well versed in both classic ASP and VB6 enough to migrate to VB.Net for web and client server platforms.
