*Senior System Engineer / Lead Engineer –
OpenStack/Redhat*
As part of a larger Infrastructure Operations team, the Cloud Systems and
Servers group is responsible for all server and cloud infrastructure,
dedicated servers, guest operating systems, and common services, such as
LDAP, DNS, and Active Directory.
This Senior/ Lead Engineer will have a primary role supporting the virtual
server enterprise, with a principal focus on the VMware ESX and Linux
server systems. The successful Engineer provides expertise in managing,
provisioning and supporting FICO's server/cloud environments The Senior /
Lead Engineer – OpenStack/Redhat provides a high level of expertise in
VMware virtualization, RedHat OS/applications, utilities, and support
software. This position requires an experienced VMware engineer who is
goal-oriented, must be able multitask, is willing to mentor junior
engineers, has the ability to work independently and in small groups.
Significant experience with VMware and Red Hat technologies is required.
*EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATIONS:*
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or
Information Technology
· VMWare certification – VMware Certified Associate required, with
Certified Professional or Advanced Professional preferred
· Red Hat certification – Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator
preferred
· ITIL V3 certification preferred
*REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:*
- 5+ years of experience as a Sr. Systems Engineer/Lead with
concentration around servers, storage and networking.
· Expertise with OpenStack cloud platform
- RHEL v5 or v6 experience a MUST
· experience supporting Linux systems; Red Hat Enterprise preferred
· Hands-on administrative management experience supporting VMware
hypervisor systems; ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, Site Recovery Manager,
etc. *OpenStack
experience also relevant.*
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise-level virtualization strategy,
design, implementation and maintenance using VMware vSphere 5.x servers and
clusters.
· Knowledge of industry security principles and server
vulnerability remediation practices
· Experience using Satellite and/or Spacewalk to develop and manage
server patching and vulnerability response
· Knowledge of one of the scripting/programming languages – Shell,
Java, Perl, Python, Ruby
· Proven history of incident response, diagnostic activities, Root
Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action Plans, and advanced troubleshooting
· Proven experience with Change Management within a 24/7 technology
operations environment
· Recent experience with Configuration Management within a
24/7environment
*PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:*
· Experience with Red Hat Openshift
- Familiarity with container configuration (Docker, Rocket, etc.)
- Experience with capacity planning and monitoring within VMware
infrastructure
- Experience with fiber channel fabrics
· Working knowledge in Cisco networking technology, including Nexus
switching, IOS switches, firewalls and ASAs.
· Cisco server systems, such as Cisco Unified Computing Services,
including B-series and C-series server systems and 6200 fabric switches.
· Experience with EMC systems, including VNX and VMAX3
· Storage, networking, security, Citrix, and cloud certifications
highly valued
