*Position: Android/Linux Driver Developer - Connectivity*

Location:  San Mateo, CA

Duration: 6 months with likely extension



JOB DESCRIPTION:



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:



*- Design, implements and maintains Local Connectivity (WiFi and Bluetooth)
software for mobile platforms, with focus on Android BSP and connectivity
framework.*

- Assists in bringing up new connectivity hardware platforms and boards.

- Implements, maintains and optimizing system-level Android mobile OS
components, including device drivers for local connectivity
(WiFi/Bluetooth) modules.

- Delivers high-performing, highly-reliable and easily-maintained software
and solutions to the product.

- Communicates with customers to develop design specifications from
requirements.

- Responsible for the design, implementation, unit testing, and integration
of solutions.

- Responsible for working with Type Approval / Certification labs, IOT Labs
and operator labs to solve the technical issues so that the product is type
approved / certified (e.g. for WFA certification) and launched on time.

- Responsible for compliance with project development working
infrastructure including source control.

- Other non-development duties as may be assigned as team's need.



REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Strong  domain knowledge on WiFi (and Bluetooth) both theoretical and
practical from antenna to RF, to the various 802.11 b/g/a/n/ac technologies
and security protocols and authentication mechanism related to local
connectivity such as EAP-AKA, EAP-SIM, etc

- Proven hands-on experience on development and trouble shooting of Local
Connectivity (WiFi / Bluetooth) subsystem, features, certifications
required by US mobile carrier operators’ mobile devices

- Strong hands on experience of using analysis tools such as Network
Analyzer, Wireshark, WiFi / Bluetooth sniffer, Log analysis tools such as
QXDM to troubleshoot complex system wide problem related to Local
Connectivity subsystem (WiFi / Bluetooth).

- Self-starter, strong analytical skills, creative problem-solver, able to
work independently and make sound judgments, while also remaining effective
in a dynamic team environment.

- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly and resolve
problems involved in integrating new technologies into existing systems.

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work well under pressure and meet
deadlines in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.

- Strong, effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Maintains confidentiality and discretion with regard to sensitive
proprietary information of company and customers.

- Maintains positive working relationships and "can do" attitude.

- Willing to run extra mile as needed to meet project deadlines

- Willing to travel and work onsite with customers (e.g. operator labs, IOT
labs), if required



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or
Electrical Engineering.

- Software engineering and development experience, preferably in a mobile
domain.

- Knowledge of and experience in working on operating systems internals,
device drivers, preferably on mobile devices and embedded systems on Linux
kernels and on Google Android connectivity framework.

- Experience in working on Linux and/or Android open source projects and
strong contribution is a huge plus.
