Position- Virtualization system Admin

Duration: 6-12 months (*GC/USC only*)

Bridgewater, NJ

Responsibilities:

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

   1. Install, configure, and manage all aspects of the Citrix Xen and
   VMware VSphere virtual environments, including creating, installing, and
   administering new virtual and physical servers, datastore creation and
   maintenance, V2V’s, and troubleshooting performance issues
   2.

   Diagnose and solve production virtual environment problems related to
   hardware, storage, network and/or performance issues within defined SLA’s.
   3.

   Collaborate with various internal technical teams to manage, deploy, and
   upgrade the virtual infrastructure system environments.
   4.

   Respond, manage, and escalate trouble tickets related to virtualization
   system environments.
   5.

   Perform weekly and monthly capacity planning and develop/recommend new
   technology to provide efficient and accurate use of systems utilization and
   monitoring data.
   6.

   Create, maintain, and update virtualization system environment
   documentation and procedures.
   7.

   Monitor and tune virtualization system environments to achieve optimum
   performance levels, and maintain high availability.
   8.

   Ability to work and perform tasks during non- business hours and
   holidays.



*OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*



   1. Good analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to raise concerns
   and problems in a clear and concise fashion and provide clearly defined
   solutions.
   2. Experience in most technical aspects of server infrastructure and
   expertise in at least one area including: server hardware, basic O/S
   installation, O/S troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows and Linux, Storage
   Area Networks administration and troubleshooting, monitoring, and security.
   3. Experience with Netapp and Dell Equallogic technologies and storage
   area network concepts such as iSCSI, FC, CIFS, NFS, RAID, LUN, IQN,
   snapshots, and replication.
   4. Experience with Symantec Netbackup Backup and Recovery
   infrastructure, technologies, and strategies in enterprise backup system
   environments.
   5. Experience with Windows and Linux scripting, such as PowerShell,
   Batch, PowerCLI, shell/bash, and perl.

 Qualifications:

   1. Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
   2. Minimum 5 years of experience with Citrix Xen and VMware vSphere
   virtualization systems, Storage Area Networks, and Backup and Recovery
   environments.
   3. Strong system administration experience with analytical, planning,
   project management, and problem solving abilities.
   4. Strong technical knowledge in Windows 2003/2008, Linux Operating
   Systems, Virtualization Technologies (Xen / VMware), Symantec Netbackup
   6.x/7, Netapp and Dell Equallogic SANs, Dell Server & Network Hardware, and
   database administration.
   5. Proficient with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, WINS, Active Directory, and other
   related network protocols and services.
   6. Experience working with and escalating to vendors according to
   service level agreements.
   7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, both as an
   individual contributor and as a team member; and the ability to handle
   multiple tasks simultaneously with varying priorities.
   8. Team player and able to work with technical peers and non-technical
   end users.
   9. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
