*Humedica is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our IT team. In this role
you will be responsible for all aspects of Humedica's IT infrastructure.
This is a role offering considerable opportunity to use your knowledge and
creativity to build robust and scalable solutions. Your responsibilities
will include administration and operation of: • Customer-facing
highly-available Puppet-deployed web applications running on Linux and
servers • A data pipeline built around Oracle and Hadoop on Puppet-managed
Linux servers • Core IT infrastructure including VMware vSphere server
clusters and petabyte-scale SANs In addition you will collaborate on and
own major IT projects such as the build-out of a disaster recovery
capability or the creation of deployment automation for customer-facing
applications. Required: • A calm, easy-going, happy demeanor coupled with
good communication, a sense of humor, and eagerness to learn new things •
3+ years of experience managing Linux-based systems • Strong facility and
track record with at least one of the following: o Python o Perl o Ruby o
Puppet o Chef o Ansible • Solid understanding of IP networking protocols
and concepts Desirable Experience (Assets): • VMware • Windows / Active
Directory • Hadoop and related ecosystem • Storage/SAN administration •
Network administration/architecture • Web application release management •
Database administration*
