The position we have open is located in Farmington Hills is looking for SR WAN individual for a 6 month -1 year contract with potential to go direct. Ideally they are targeting an individual with 7-10+ years of experience with WAN, experience with *WAN* optimization (they currently use Riverbed) and experience with intrusion detection – they are currently using Fortinet but are open to Cisco Intrusion. On a day to day basis this person will be in charge of being hands on in the trenches, configuring routing, design work, working with VPN, IP protocol in routing, MPLS, and installing new hardware. Ideally the manager would like a candidate that has a *CCIE* certification but is open if the candidate has a CCNA, CCNP/CISSP. This person will need to travel up to 50% (1-2 weeks out of the month, US and Mexico) Additional Information: Work Environment: 6500 end users, 40 locations across the United States, locations within Mexico and Canada. *The Sr WAN Engineer* will play an important role in ensuring smooth day to day operations of the MAHLE networks. Your responsibilities will include network design and testing along with advanced troubleshooting of the WAN and other data communications systems. Additionally, the SR WAN Engineer will work within general methods and procedures, exercise considerable independent judgment to select the proper course of action, and are required to review the work of 1st & 2nd level technicians, to ensure conformance with established guidelines, methods, procedures, and policies related to the information technology area. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Manage, Design, and support WAN infrastructure for MAHLE North America. • BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSSRP, and other WAN Routing Protocols • VPN (site-to-site and user) • Riverbed Optimization • Fortinet/Cisco Intrusion Detection/Prevention • Complex Routing Tables • Layer 3 Technology on Core Switches • MPLS • Internet Security & Routing • iWAN Technologies Design and document WAN topologies, configurations Provide expert support to functional team members in their daily activities. Install, Configure, & Manage WAN network equipment per current global and regional standards Participate in global exercises in order to develop standards. Manage projects and resources as needed.
