Job description:
1. Core DBA:
- Provide 24X7 DBA support for Production database
- Perform capacity planning for database storage
- Perform database backup and recovery
- Install/upgrade database software and apply database patches
- Create database objects and maintain the data models
- Administer and maintain the database security
- Implement Database Change Controls
- Resolve Database related issues
- Monitor and improve database performance
- Construct Unix shell scripting as needed
- Provide SQL tuning advice to development team
- Perform environment cloning from Prod to non-prod environments
- Maintain and support 10gAS Single Sign-on components
- Integrate and support 10gAS SSO with external LDAP, e.g. Microsoft
ADFS
- Implement application change control for Production code migration
1. OBIEE DBA requirement (in addition to Core DBA skills)
- Attain the knowledge of OBIEE 11g architecture
- Install/Configure/Apply patches/Upgrade Oracle Business
Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Business Analytics Applications.
- Install/Configure/Apply patches/Upgrade ETL Tools
(Informatica/DAC).
- Install/Configure/Apply patches/Upgrade Oracle Core technology
products Database, Application servers.
- Provide support on Oracle BI applications/tech stack/database
upgrades, Patching, Catalog/Repository Migrations, and backups/recovery.
1. Plus, but not required
- Oracle RAC database with ASM implementation
- Oracle OAM/OIF
- OEM Grid control installation/support
- HP/PPM tool, i.e. Mercury/Kintana code migration
- UC4 software
- 10g Application Server
- Single sign-on implementation
- Software lifecycle methodology
1. Oracle OBIEE DBA Job Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years Oracle Database Administration, design and
support experience in Unix environments
- Minimum of 2 years of expertise in Oracle OBIEE 11g architecture
and related components including database and application server
- Working knowledge of database management software, design
specifications and requirements plus ability to develop programs and
maintain quality service.
- Proficient in trouble shooting, e.g. investigate problems, develop
specifications and document solutions.
- Good communication skill
- Great documentation discipline
- Familiar with SOX auditing and change control compliance
- Excellent team player to work with various vendors and fast-pace
