*Please send resume to [email protected] <[email protected]>* *Job Title* Lead Consultant || Infrastructure Consultancy Experience in Hardware Refresh and Wintel* *Work Location & Address* Denver CO 80221* *Contract duration (in months)* 6+* *Mandatory Qualification Masters in Computer Science and Experience of 10-15 years is MUST Responsibilities • Gather customer’s business and technical requirements and in cases where such requirements are unavailable, should be able to define these requirements based on discussions with the customer. • Refine technical requirements –functional, non-functional and operational requirements based on business needs, demand, and growth patterns. • Create technical architecture diagrams and description based on these requirements. Be able to create requirements mapping matrices to map each component of the technical solution back to a technical requirement • Create highly professional infrastructure architecture blueprint documents to depict customer’s current environment and recommended future requirements • Workshop with Product owners/Application architects for understanding the requirements and vision. Conduct workshop with all SMEs from identified teams • Workshops with support and operation teams for understanding the environment, tools and challenges they face • Inventory validation for Enterprise infrastructure landscape for the Wintel/ AIX and ESX • Review for individual Infrastructure/ Application modules • Review reports like performance, utilization, configuration, availability and incidents • Prepare and submit consolidated As-Is Environment Inventory Details • Be able to create a Bill of Materials (BOM) for a given physical architecture for multiple environments • Must be able to articulate the various phases of a project such as Assess, Analyze and roadmap. • Analysis of the data and information collected from workshops to carve out Infrastructure to Application mapping for the Wintel/ AIX and ESX platforms • Review the mapping of Application to infrastructure and update the mapping information where it is inaccurate or incomplete • Analyze the application retirement plans and propose a plan for the optimal utilization of infrastructure resources over the next 36 months • Analysis of the identified gaps, issues and challenges for Infrastructure collected during data collection phase • Cost benefit analysis for moving AIX to x86 based platform • Assess the impact of decommissioning of old hardware, left over in the past • Report key findings and observations • Prepare and submit consolidated Assessment report • As per the identified gaps/challenges and suggested recommendation, Preparation of strategic and technology initiatives with high level timelines • Formulate the high-level hardware refresh Approach and Plan • Decommissioning plan for old hardware left over in the past • Determine estimated durations for each initiative • Engage with Application team to align sequencing • Prioritize and sequence initiatives and projects • Prepare and submit Infrastructure Strategy report with recommendations • Must be able to provide technical management of infrastructure architecture and provide technical mentoring, guidance and clarification to other architects and technical resources. • Must be able to apply appropriate estimating techniques to determine the level of effort and financial investment required for the technical implementation of the solution. • Contributes to the creation of Technical Reference Architectures. Must be able to extract architectural patterns from our previous engagements and from your past experience. Should be able to customize reference architecture for a specific requirement(s) and create customer specific infrastructure architecture blue print documents. • Must be able to see the ‘big picture’ and effect of infrastructure architecture on other areas such as managed services, system management tools, service management –service catalogs, processes, technical skills of people etc • Understand typical IT landscapes such as Development, Test, QA, Production and DR • Experience with Shared Services Architecture, Multi-tenancy, Utility Computing pricing models, professional services practice development is a plus. • Be aware of new technologies and be ready to recommend technical products in various areas such as Server, Storage, Network, Security etc. Must be able to map the effect of Infrastructure Architecture on the overall Enterprise Architecture of the client organization. Must understand various IT organizational strategies and tradeoffs. Mandatory Skills • Infrastructure Consultancy Experience in Hardware Refresh and Wintel • Assess the impact of decommissioning of old hardware, left over in the past • Formulate the high-level hardware refresh Approach and Plan • Decommissioning plan for old hardware left over in the past Skills • Essential Technical Skills in two or more • Experience in Data Center Architecture, Design and Implementation • Expertise on at least two OS Platforms (Windows/Solaris /Linux / AIX /Storage etc ) • Good understanding and capable of understanding Storage (SAN & NAS) Architecture and able to provide the storage optimization solutions • Active Directory design concepts • Design Experience on a virtualization Platform ((VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen etc) Preferably VMWare • Good Exposure to an RDBMS environment(MS SQL and/or Oracle ) • Experience on Clustering and other high availability solutions ( Veritas Cluster, Sun Cluster , Microsoft Cluster etc ) • High Level Understanding of Application Architecture ( ERP, Custom Built or COTS applications) • Experience in architecting Infrastructure solutions like MS Exchange, Citrix, VDI etc, Essential Skills • Experience in providing solutions and approach • Experience in requirement gathering • Performing assessment and provide recommendations including gaps analysis and recommendations • Experience in client interactions • Experience in Global Delivery Model working with teams which are positioned in multiple geographical locations across global time zones is required. • Strong understanding of application architecture • Excellent communication skills Best Regards Ankit Kumar Sagwal IDC Technologies Inc.
