Yes, I agree it is a bit confusing the version of pysqlite2 is version "2.3.5",
but the package is actually linked against sqlite3.
I did not change the comment when I took over the package.  I am happy to 
change the comment
to 2.x support, but I think most people have grown accustomed to the nameing 
convention.

The CSWpysqlite package uses pysqlite version 1.1.8 which is technically also 
linked against
sqlite3  the difference is the actual extension code.  the jump from 1.x to 2.x 
was a drastic
change in the way the extension worked, and 1.1.8 still has some modules that 
require that version, albeit
a very few.
