Hmm... so what library are you suggesting needs -lnet, that gedit currently
uses?
As I said previously, I've compiled the exact same version of gedit as
we have packaged and even with all bells and whistles turned on, there
is no need for libnet.
I'm suggesting that there was a library (which gedit is linked to) which
needed libnet in the past, but a upgrade of that library has made the
need for libnet obsolete.
