I've finally got the unofficial 3.1.3 code into testing now - feedback
is welcome
Please note the following about versions:
3.1.2 is the latest official release - this builds successfully on
Solaris 10 with Sun Studio 12, no patching required - it doesn't build
successfully on Sun Studio 11 or Solaris 8 (multiple issues)
3.1.3 is not yet in the RC stage, but very close to it - I have used the
code from the monitor-core-3.1 branch upstream, and built a sample 3.1.3
package which is now in OpenCSW testing. During this process, I
identified one further change that is required to support Sun Studio 11,
otherwise, it seems to be good for Solaris 8 and above, Sun Studio 11 or 12.
For a bare minimum install:
- put ganglia_agent on all machines to be monitored
- put ganglia_web on the machine which is meant to be the monitoring server
- restart Apache on the monitoring server
- browse to http://<monitoring-server>/ganglia/
The agent interoperates smoothly with the Linux agent on the same network.
