That was quick, good to hear from you! Regarding GAR, there are a couple of pages on http://gar.opencsw.org (redirects to sf.net) which are good for a start: The packaging tutorial which goes through the general process for two packages [1] and the GAR variable reference which describes GAR variables and their purpose [2]. You don't need to understand everything to get started, most things are for special cases and can easily be learnt later. After getting the basic understanding of GAR, you can re-build an existing package from the repository just to see an example build from start to end. Then, the easiest way IMHO is to have a look at some build description from very active maintainers (e.g. Dago, Maciej) and see how they do things with GAR (have the GAR reference ready). I took the liberty to commit an example build description for librsync which works for me [3]. You can just take that and adapt it to your needs. In case you have questions, just ask on maintainers, pop my on #opencsw on freenode [4], or drop me an email. The first two options will likely get you more timely replies :) HTH and thanks for helping out Sebastian [1]http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gar/wiki/GarPackagingTutorial [2]http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gar/wiki/GAR%20Variable%20Reference [3]https://gar.svn.sf.net/svnroot/gar/csw/mgar/pkg/librsync/trunk/Makefile [4]http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=opencsw _______________________________________________ maintainers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.opencsw.org/mailman/listinfo/maintainers .:: This mailing list's archive is public. ::.
