Regarding xpdf, there is no collision, its the utilities
(pdftotext...) that collide, which was why I suggested to Benny that
he also split them out to a separate package and we make them
(poppler and xpdf_utils incompatible).
It would really be the best to use alternatives to select which set
of tools would be selected. That way both packages can be installed,
no breakage, and if one or the other has some minor advantage in one
or the other environment the user can easily select the tools of
choice. It is pretty simple in GAR:
