Maciej told me to specifically write *you* - but this might
be interesting for more folks:

Some software doesn't build or is otherwise unsuitable on
32bit hardware, so we build it 64bit only. GAR however will,
right now, strip out all the silly stuff that would otherwise
be duplicate: Configuration files, log directories, etc.
These things are very useful, though, especially if there is
no 32bit version of the package in question.

What can we do to hint GAR that we'd like to keep those?
And further down the line: What can we do to automate that
step, so in the future it's just a switch in the Makefile?
