Yes, that's better than pushing a "bad" catalog. If we now e-mailed the list or any other people than the two being able to sign the catalog we would still not get anything done most likely since they already received an e-mail and for unknown reason didn't sign it in time. Now more people would know but still not being able to help, that's not good. Maybe Ben's suggestion about only entering the password on daemon startup is better.
