Thinking about it, should there be a warning for shared modules that are not libs? Case in point: nss_winbind.so.1 in Samba, which is supposed to be symlinked in /usr/lib/nss. (I know it doesn't apply there, it's just an example, and that file is not even named like that yet).
There are some of those in MySQL, but I don't believe they can be used by something else.
