The John T. Jackson Memorial Team Race Regatta is named in honor of John T. Jackson '03 a member of the Georgetown University Sailing Team who passed away in a tragic accident in Chicago only months after he graduated from Georgetown. Many family, friends and teammates of John return each year for his regatta. John's parents Dr. and Mrs. Jackson addressed the teams at the skippers meeting and watched the races. Saturday - 63 races completed with NW wind 15-25mph with higher gusts. Course was a Starboard N that was between 8-10 minutes. 7 protests were heard by judges Ken Ward (Gtown '02) and Alex Holtan (Gtown '02). There were a few breakdowns including a severely bent mast. We will attempt to complete the second round tomorrow and then sail a single round robin final six and a consolation final 4. Sunday Completed the second round robin in NW 10-15mph with higher gusts. Completed a single round robin final 6 and a single round robin consolation four. Wind for the final round was NW 5-10MPH. Racing was completed at 2:45PM. Four protests were heard by the jury of John Camera (Gtown 01) Brian Bissell (Gtown 02), Tyler Haskell (Gtown 04) and Chris Gosselin (Gtown 05). Final Results (after 121 races) 1. Georgetown 19-4 2.
