To All Coming to Navy For The Laser Qualifiers This Weekend:
First congrats to all the sailors that qualified for the Van Duyne!! We welcome you all to the Naval Academy. Please make sure to complete your gate pass by tomorrow online, this is to ensure there are no problems coming to the Yard. http://navysports.cstv.com/ot/navy-visitors-gatepassform.html Venue: We expect to sail in the area that gives us the best conditions. These include: In the River Off of Triton Pt. In the "N" Cove next to the Naval Station marina On the southern side of the Radio Towers (The Qualifier sailed there this past weekend) In all cases we will have a lunch break on sat here at the sailing center. Coaches should be prepared to go on the water, this means lifejacket!! Course: The primary course we will attempt to run will be a windward/leeward with a windward offset and a leeward gate, twice around finishing and starting on a line below the leeward gate. This is not to say we might switch to another course but this is our intention. Course length will be attempted to be around 25- 30 minutes. Rule 42: We are trying to get on the water judges but unfortunately there is a ISAF Umpire conference this weekend which is a conflict. We will be using the ICSA Rule 42 Interpretations and they will be posted on the notice board. Fleets: The Faye Bennet Sailors (The Women) will be the only boats allowed on the laser float Sat morning. The Van Duyne Sailors (The Dudes) Will have to wait for the women to launch before they can bring their boats down. The Women will sail the New White Hulls and the Guys will sail the older Grey hulls. Please make sure each sailor uses the right number Sail, Rudder, and dagger board. There may not be any modification of the rigging other then the lines that are adjustable. Any line that has a metal hog ring on it is not adjustable. We have a new rigging system so please see the notice board for pictures and instructions. See you this weekend!!
