Information and reminders for those teams who will be sailing in the Webb Regatta at Christopher Newport this weekend. The Webb Regatta is run in honor of George and Jane Webb, patron saints of the CNU Sailing Team. This year's event is again sponsored by Wachovia Securities of Hampton. 1. Please be on time. We intend to get in two full rotations (32 Races). We have never failed to do so by keeping wasted time to a minimum. 2. We will be providing lunch on Saturday. Planned for this year: Hot dogs (only the best premium dogs) grilled and kept warm in a beer bath with a wide variety of fixings, a variety of drinks (Sorry, the beer is only to keep the dogs warm!), chips, and a side. 3. The plan is for four races on Saturday morning, six on Saturday afternoon and six on Sunday morning. 4. We intend to have racing completed and everyone on the road home by 1:00 PM on Sunday (or earlier). 5. T Shirts will be provided for all team members. 6. We will be sailing on the CNU Box which features: a beat to windward, a broad reach, a beat to windward, a beam reach, and a run to the finish. with separate start and finish lines and continuous adjustment of the course. Sounds complicated? It isn't. Trust me The long range forecast is for temperatures in the upper 70's. Our entire team will be doing their best to make this a great event for you and we'll see you all on Saturday.
