Luce Trophy @ St. Mary¹s College of MD 10/27-28
A double round robin of 18 races sailed in each of 2 divisions. Both
divisions were sailed on the water at the same time. American University
attempted to sail in B division, but was not comfortable with the conditions
and boat type. They did come with the proper number of competitors.
Monmouth University no showed on Sunday without any notice. In the interest
of safety, the final four races in each division were sailed in the same
boat.
Sat:
Strong rains gave way to late sunshine and cooler temps. Breeze started SE
at 10-14 knots and clocked consistently to become West/Northwest. Racing
ended for the day in breezed of less than five knots after race 14B. All
courses were gold cup.
RC: Ted Hale, Reid Vitarelli, Ben Whitman
Sun:
Breeze of 15-20 knots from the Northwest. Races 15-18 were run without
rotation for reasons of safety. All courses were modified triangles.
