About the 2008 Draft of Events 1. The selections for the 2008 MAISA Event Draft will be made entirely by e-mail. The instructions for this draft must be followed to the letter. 2. The Draft Package will be put out via e-mail to the MAISA List on November 8th. 3. This package will consist of: a. The colorized version of the 2nd Draft b. The 2008 Schedule Form c. “How to Schedule Wisely” d. MAISA Draft Rules – 2008 e. Draft Instructions – 2008 4. READ all of these carefully and if you can’t figure it all out, e-mail me and I’ll try to help. 5. Most importantly, NO requests for events will be entertained unless they are submitted on the supplied Excel form. 6. If you wish to make a change, make the change on your already completed form (which I expect you will have “saved”) and attach it to an e-mail it to me with the subject “CHANGE” and I will replace your previous form with the new one. However, it must reach me by the November 29th deadline. 7. We are going to be processing the requests from 44 teams, for 120+ events with more than 920+ openings. This takes time and there is great potential for error UNLESS you follow these instructions carefully. We will not be able to analyze your picks and catch your mistakes. 8. Regarding the integrity of the Draft: There will be no changes made to any Selection Form or any team’s schedule between the November 29th deadline and the day the 3rd Draft is put on line. Christopher Newport’s picks will be made and frozen as of the day the Draft Package is e-mailed to all teams. 9. A team who wishes to send an “observer” to the Draft may do so, however we can accommodate no more than one or two people. If you wish to attend, let me know well in advance. Any observers present will observe ONLY and they WILL be quiet during the draft. 10. The actual Draft will be held on December 1st, starting at 9:00 AM, at 47 East Queens Way, Hampton, Virginia.
