Assistant Sailing Coach, US Naval Academy Description: The US Naval Academy is accepting resume's for an Assistant Coach with the Naval Academy's very competitive dinghy program. The position reports directly to the Head Coach of the dinghy program as well as to the Director of Sailing. The position is a 12 month position which allows for substantial time off for sailing.
Duties: Will include running practice day to day with the rest of the coaching staff as well as actively coaching on the weekends with Navy's competitive regatta schedule. Other duties will include helping to maintain Navy's fleets of boats as well as running college regattas here at the Academy. Of course the biggest job will be to mentor and be a positive role model for the midshipman on the team. Requirements: Bachelor's degree; five years experience racing dinghies and keel boats including college sailing; three years experience coaching sailing. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
