Saturday, October 1, 2011 Nine teams participated in the Queen's Open this week at the Kingston Yacht Club. Racing was postponed in the morning due to heavy winds out of the North East. The wind was averaging 20-25 knots and gusting into the 30's. At 2:00pm there was a break in the wind and A fleet was sent out to race Unfortunately this did not last and we were only able to get one race off before the wind picked up again. Racing was postponed for the day.
Sunday, October 2, 2011 Competitors were greeted Sunday morning with even stronger winds. With winds forecasted to build to 40 knots later in the day the call was made to cancel racing. A big thank you to all the teams who made the trip up to Kingston. Sorry we weren't able to get more races off. Thank you as well to the Kingston Yacht Club and all the QST Sailors and volunteers who helped make this regatta possible.
