McCurdy Open @ University of Delaware Two Rivers Yacht Basin
October 8th, 2011 The McCurdy Open regatta was held this weekend on Saturday October 8th with the pleasure of near perfect weather. Saturday morning racing began when the wind filled in from the south around 10am. The wind stayed light (around 5mph) and out of the south all day but no races were postponed due to a lack of wind. Racing continued until about 4:30 in the afternoon. The regatta was finished all in one day thanks to an outstanding job by our race committee; we were able to run 16 races in a windward-leeward course and no protests were filed. I would like to thank Fordham, Ocean County College, Drexel, Army and Monmouth for attending and making this regatta successful and I would like to congratulate Fordham for winning the regatta.
