The sound of the Tyros 1 is as good as with the newer models. The newer models added more features and brushed up styles. Some of the newer styles work on the Tyros 1 and others do not. Usually because they access featurs not found on the Tyros 1. That having been said, if your looking for a keyboard to mess around on and if you could find a Tyros 1 at a great price, it would still be worth it. Keyboards are like fine wine. Some folks like this and others like that and they love to argue the finer points! LOL!It's like some folks like weighted keys and others don't. I think as an old Hammond organ player sense before 1963, I'm to use to unweighted keys.
