I forgot all about PACK###. I'm not even sure what it does, let's see... Oh, ok. The PACK### are just a subclass of MM which mixes in all the user added methods from MY and that's the class of the real MakeMaker object, not MM. Each call to ExtUtils::MakeMaker->new generates a new PACK### class/object and redoes the mixin. I've updated the notes. I know I'd figured out at some point why PACK### used MY as a mixin rather than a superclass, but I can't remember now. -- Michael G.
