I'm trying to do some tidying up and portability work on MailScanner (www.mailscanner.info) which uses MakeMaker.
Short version: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Is there an estimated timescale for the release of version 6.22 of MakeMaker? Could I encourage, please, a release soon, that would at least address "rt 5633". Thanks. Long version: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ MailScanner currently checks (and supplies) MM6.05 . But on Solaris 8, with its inbuilt (ancient!) perl 5.005_03, this has trouble with various "CORE/*.h" files. This seems (I think) to have been fixed at MM6.10_04; it certainly seems OK when I try MM6.21 . But the build of MM6.21 then later fails when testing "t/parse_version.t". This appears to be a known bug "rt 5633"; when I manually edit "t/parse_version.t" to be the development version at your website, this test is then OK for us. So: ~~ Any thoughts, please, on a release that would at least address "rt 5633"? (Until 6.21, nearly 8 months ago, the release schedule seemed fairly active. Now it seems to have frozen.)
